Nominations Can
Be Made By:
Any citizen may nominate any individual with Kansas baseball ties, living
or deceased, to be considered for induction into the Kansas Baseball Hall
of Fame. Also, nomination ballots will be sent to all Kansas Baseball Hall
of Fame inductees for nominations to be considered.
Eligibility:
Individuals nominated for selection to the Kansas Baseball Hall of Fame
must meet one of the following criteria:
1. Individuals from Kansas that achieved excellence through baseball in
Kansas.
2. Individuals from Kansas that achieved excellence through baseball
outside of Kansas.
3. Individuals from outside Kansas that achieved excellence through
baseball in Kansas.
Nominees:
Nominees can be any of the following:
1. MODERN PLAYERS. Baseball players who played within the past 50
years of the current year of induction. These players must have Kansas
ties at one or more of the following levels: high school, college,
semi-pro, N.B.C., minor league or major league.
2. OLD TIME PLAYERS. Baseball players who played prior to the past
50 years of the current year of induction. These players must have Kansas
ties at one or more of the following levels: high school, college,
semi-pro, N.B.C., minor league or major league.
3. MANAGERS. Managers with Kansas ties that coached at one or more
of the following levels: high school, college, semi-pro, N.B.C., minor
league or major league.
4. UMPIRES. Umpires with Kansas ties that umpired at one or more of
the following levels: high school, college, semi-pro, N.B.C., minor league
or major league.
5. CONTRIBUTOR. A contributor being placed in nomination must have
improved the Kansas baseball community with special distinction in any of
the following areas including: ownership, administration, scouting, media,
the Kansas Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum or service to the overall improvement of
baseball in Kansas.
Nominations:
Nominations may be made August 1st through October 31st each year.
Nominations must be typed or printed legibly on nomination form provided
by the Kansas Baseball Hall of Fame and returned to the Hall of Fame no
later than October 31st of each year. Nomination forms can be reproduced
by computer. Attachments may also be included and can be letters of
support, newspaper or magazine articles, or documents directly related to
the nominee's sports achievements and character.
The Board of Directors of the Kansas Baseball Hall of Fame is responsible
to oversee that nominating is done in a fair manner.
Voting:
Nominees will be voted on by the Board of Directors of the Kansas Baseball
Hall of Fame. No fewer than one, but not over five nominees receiveing the
most total votes will be elected by the Board of Directors. Each Board of
Director shall be able to vote for up to five inductees per year. A
nominee to be elected must receive 50 per cent or a majority of the votes
of the Board of Directors present at voting meeting. Induction ceremonies
will be held early in each year.
The Board of Directors of the Kansas Baseball Hall of Fame is responsible
to oversee that voting is done in a fair manner. |
